President and CEO
Danette Powell is the President and CEO of Yellow Moon Productions, a full-service A/V and event production company serving corporate and government clients across the United States. In a male-dominated industry, Danette stands tall as a female president and CEO — an undertaking that’s been a lifetime in the making.
Propelled by her tenacious spirit from an early age, Danette has lived in the Texas Panhandle, Tokyo, Nashville, and now the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Her resume includes decades of exposure to all technical aspects of the industry, time in the film industry, office and project management, and running a busy home and family. She began college when she was almost 40 and has since earned an Associate’s Degree in Science from Tarrant Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University. Each and every one of these experiences has helped weave Danette into the rare female CEO she is today.
Danette began Yellow Moon Productions in the midst of the 2020 pandemic with her husband, a 40-year veteran of the A/V production world. At the helm of the company, her leadership is marked by a dedication to empathy, inclusivity and the highest levels of service. No matter what’s on her long to-do list, she carries the same intention to every meeting, project and event: to truly see the people she’s with and do everything possible to make their event a standout success.
Beyond running her company, there’s nothing Danette loves more than spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Even in her hobbies, Danette stands apart: She’s been an avid skydiver for more than a decade, a sport where less than 1% of divers are women, and her jump count is in the thousands. When ready to lower her adrenaline, she also enjoys gardening and wildlife rehabilitation.
